Why visit
Charlotte is a practical Southeast hub with airport reach, neighborhoods, breweries, sports, museums, and easy road access into the Carolinas. It works when logistics and a usable city base both matter.
When to avoid
Summers are humid and oppressive, with afternoon thunderstorms and the occasional hurricane remnant tracking inland. The downtown (Uptown, locally) empties on weekends. Public transit is limited beyond the LYNX light rail. Plan for cars or rideshares. For Charlotte, check hours, tickets, transport, and neighborhood distances before the route becomes too rigid. A short distance in Charlotte can still take time once hours, queues, and transport are included.
