Why visit
Visit Copenhagen for design, architecture, museums, food, churches, royal collections, and the way a compact city uses water and bicycles. The National Museum, Glyptotek, Louisiana as a day trip, Designmuseum Danmark, Christianshavn, Nyhavn, Assistens Cemetery, Tivoli, and the harbor baths give the city several distinct frames. For a short stay, keep the plan central and walk or use the metro where cycling is not comfortable. With more time, add Louisiana, Roskilde, Malmö, or slower harbor and neighborhood days.
When to avoid
Copenhagen is expensive, and its calm surface can make a short trip feel thinner than expected if you do not plan museums, food, or day trips. Restaurant reservations matter, and some sights are less spontaneous than they look. Winter is damp, dark, and windy. It can still work well for museums, design, food, and concerts, but it is not the same trip as long summer evenings by the harbor.
