Visit Fogo for the volcano. Pico do Fogo and Cha das Caldeiras make the island one of the clearest landscape trips in Cabo Verde, with villages, lava fields, and altitude changing the day. It makes sense when the Cabo Verde trip has room for an island hop and a slower mountain rhythm.
Do not add Fogo casually to a short Cabo Verde trip. Flights, ferry timing, weather, and hiking plans need space. If the volcano or caldera stay is not the point, another island may be easier to fit.
