Why visit
Visit Heist as part of a Belgian coast tram day. The stops around Heist, Duinbergen, and Zeebrugge help build a practical route along the beach towns without needing a car. It works when the coast is being read as a chain: dunes, promenades, small stations, seafood, and resort edges.
When to avoid
Do not visit Heist as if it were a single must-see town. It is strongest as part of the wider Kusttram sequence. In poor weather, prioritize the best-connected stops and use Heist only if the route still feels easy.
