Waikīkī's surf and sunsets, the Pearl Harbor National Memorial and USS Arizona, the Bishop Museum's Hawaiian and Pacific collections, hiking Diamond Head and Manoa Falls, and a food scene running from poke counters and saimin shops to acclaimed fine dining. When to avoid
Do not visit Honolulu expecting every worthwhile stop to be close together or easy to improvise. The map of Honolulu is only half the problem. Hours, heat, rain, crowds, and transport decide what is realistic. A day in Honolulu should account for distance, heat, parking, and transit before adding more stops. A practical route in Honolulu may need rideshares or a car if transit does not connect the worthwhile stops.
