Why visit
Takab belongs in the atlas because Takht-e Soleyman is a major Iranian heritage landscape, with archaeology, water, shrine history, and mountain-edge setting in one place. It is worth keeping as a researched cultural marker, but not as an active travel suggestion while the advisory environment is severe.
When to avoid
Do not treat Takab as a current travel recommendation. In July 2026, the U.S. State Department listed Iran at Level 4, Do Not Travel, citing terrorism, unrest, kidnapping, arbitrary arrest, and wrongful detention risks. Leave the row as heritage context unless conditions change and a high-risk travel plan is justified.
