Church of Our Lady before Týn

The uneven twin towers of the Church of Our Lady before Týn rise above the buildings on the east side of Old Town Square. The entrance is less obvious than the facade. It runs through the passage at Staroměstské náměstí 14. The present Gothic church took shape from the mid-fourteenth century into the early sixteenth century and served as a major Hussite church during the fifteenth century.

A fire in 1679 led to Baroque changes inside. The church contains the tomb of astronomer Tycho Brahe and a 1673 organ, the oldest surviving organ in Prague. Sightseeing hours are limited around services, and admission is free with a suggested donation.
