Estação Ferroviária de Teresina

The Estação Ferroviária de Teresina complex opened in 1926 and includes the main station and two warehouses. IPHAN protected it in 2013, then supervised a restoration completed in 2024. The complex now houses IPHAN's Piauí office, the state railway company, and cultural spaces.

Current metro passengers use the lower Frei Serafim platforms behind the historic building, so the old hall and modern stop are related but not the same thing. The site explains how rail shaped Teresina before the city rebuilt the corridor as a small urban metro.
