Estación Constitución

Constitución is the Pacific terminal of the narrow-gauge railway from Talca. The branch was completed in 1915 after decades of difficult work through the Maule valley. It survives as a daily rural public service, not as a frequent commuter line or a heritage ride staged only for visitors.

The entire railway became a National Historic Monument in 2007. That protection includes the station sites, railcars, turntables, bridges, tunnels, and engineering works along the route. Constitución has more facilities and onward transport than the intermediate halts, but the timetable still controls the day. Missing the return train can mean finding a road alternative.
