Estación de La Sabana

Estación de La Sabana was Bogotá's main railway terminal. Mariano Sanz de Santamaría and William Lidstone designed the building between 1914 and 1917, with a classical central entrance, arched openings, columns, and a large platform hall. The facade was simplified and a third floor was added in 1955.

The station is protected as both a national and district heritage building, but it is no longer the departure point for the tourist train to Zipaquirá. Turistren still has a ticket office here. Actual trains board at the platform west of Gran Estación mall or at Estación de Usaquén, so do not come here expecting to catch the excursion.
