Medieval City of Rhodes is a walled city, not a single monument. The Knights of St John controlled Rhodes from 1309 to 1523 and rebuilt the city for defense, administration, hospitals, and residence. The walls run for about 4 kilometers around the old town.
Walk for structure first: gates, ramparts, Street of the Knights, Palace of the Grand Masters, hospital buildings, mosques, baths, and later Italian work. The city did not freeze in 1523. Ottoman and Italian periods are visible in the same streets, so it works better as a long walk than a checklist.

The Medieval City of Rhodes remains a living district inside roughly four kilometers of defensive walls. The Knights of St John controlled Rhodes from 1309 until the Ottoman siege of 1522 and built the high town around the Palace of the Grand Master, the Great Hospital, and the Street of the Knights.
Ottoman rule added mosques, baths, houses, and converted churches throughout the lower town. Italian administration after 1912 restored and reconstructed several major buildings, leaving another visible layer in the city. Homes, shops, hotels, and public streets continue inside the fortifications, while individual monuments keep their own hours and tickets.
