Estación Tacuarembó

Tacuarembó station opened in 1891 as the railway pushed north toward Rivera and the Brazilian border. The line changed how people, livestock, and goods moved through northern Uruguay, and the station became one of the main anchors of the city beyond its central plaza.

The building is the southern terminal of AFE's limited passenger service to Rivera. This is not a frequent commuter railway, so the published operating day and holiday exceptions matter more than the distance on the map. Confirm the timetable before building a trip around it.
