The Tomás Jofré to Mercedes train connects Tomás Jofré, Altamira, and the Belgrano station in Mercedes. It is a short tourist service built around a day in the countryside, not a useful link from central Buenos Aires.

The branch is part of the former Compañía General metre-gauge network. Passenger service on this section reopened as a tourist train, restoring a small piece of a rural railway that had disappeared from regular use. The current timetable runs on Sundays and should be checked before traveling.

Buy tickets according to the current Trenes Argentinos instructions. Do not assume contactless bank-card payment or frequent departures at the platform. Tomás Jofré and Mercedes are separate from the regular Sáenz commuter service, and reaching either end requires its own planning.

Diesel rolling stock covers the three-stop route, with limited seating compared with a city train. Station staffing, high platforms, and wheelchair boarding are not consistent across the branch. Confirm accessibility or other assistance with the operator before committing to the trip.
