Fukuoka’s three subway lines meet the main districts without an oversized network. The Kuko Line links Fukuoka Airport directly with Hakata, Tenjin, and the western side of the city.
Tickets and access
Buy a single ticket or use a compatible nationwide IC card where the operator lists it. Direct contactless bank-card tapping is not a network-wide Japanese standard, so do not rely on a foreign bank card unless the operator specifically shows it as accepted.
Stations provide elevators, tactile guidance, accessible toilets, and staff assistance. Check the operator’s accessibility map when a specific entrance matters because not every street entrance is step-free.
