Málaga Metro is useful but not the main first-visit movement system. The historic center is walkable, the airport is Cercanías, and the beach/city trips often happen above ground.
The metro matters when your day points west, toward Guadalmedina, Atarazanas, university-side movement, or a hotel that happens to sit on the line. Think of it as a helpful modern layer, not the thing that explains Málaga.
