Line A runs from La Estrella to Niquía with 21 cataloged stops. Frequent urban metro service.

Line A opened in 1995 and Line B followed in 1996, creating Colombia’s first modern metro. Line K opened in 2004 and showed that an aerial cable could work as part of daily urban transit rather than only as a tourist ride. The tram and later cables expanded that same integrated model.

Riding the line

Use a Cívica card or the current fare product accepted at the gates. Most rail and cable transfers stay inside the integrated fare, but Line L to Arví uses a separate ticket. A contactless bank card should not be assumed to replace Cívica at every entrance.

Current vehicles and ride: Lines A and B use electric metro trains. The Ayacucho line uses rubber-tired trams guided by a central rail, while gondola cabins handle Lines H, J, K, L, M, and P.

San Antonio, Acevedo connect this route with another part of the network. San Antonio connects Lines A, B, and the tram. Acevedo connects Line A with Lines K and P. San Javier connects Line B with Line J, while Oriente and Miraflores connect the tram with Lines H and M. Santo Domingo is the transfer between Lines K and L.

Accessibility: The operator lists stations as accessible, with lifts, platforms, escalators, or other aids depending on the structure. Older Line A stations continue to receive access upgrades, so check the exact entrance when a lift is essential.

Cable lines can close for wind, lightning, or maintenance even when the metro keeps running. Line L follows Parque Arví hours and does not share the ordinary integrated fare.
