Mitteldeutschland S-Bahn S5X

S5X runs between Halle-Trotha and Zwickau, Hauptbahnhof as part of Mitteldeutschland S-Bahn. This stopping pattern has 23 stations.

History

This line uses track that opened in stages as the network grew.

The present Mitteldeutschland network took shape with the opening of Leipzig’s City Tunnel in 2013. It links Leipzig and Halle with a wide group of Saxon and Saxony-Anhalt towns.

Tickets and trains

Use the local transport association’s ticket or app. The Deutschland-Ticket covers participating S-Bahn and Regio-S-Bahn service, but not ICE, IC, or EC trains. Check the dated journey in the operator planner when engineering work changes the route.
