Auschwitz and Wieliczka each need their own day. Zakopane works better with at least one night than as a rushed return trip.
| Where | Getting there | Why go |
|---|---|---|
| Auschwitz-Birkenau | Allow a full day from Krakow | Personalized entry passes are available only through the official Auschwitz booking system. The standard guided visit covers Auschwitz I and Birkenau and lasts about three and a half hours. |
| Wieliczka Salt Mine | Direct SKA1 train from Kraków Główny | The Tourist Route always runs with a guide. It includes roughly 800 stairs and stays at 17 to 18 degrees Celsius underground. |
| Zakopane | Two to three hours by train, depending on the service | An overnight stay leaves room for weather-dependent decisions in the Tatra foothills without spending most of one day on the return journey. |
