Cafe Daphna on George Atoneli Street was my favorite cheap eat in Tbilisi. I went back two or three times with friends and picked up takeaway on a couple of other nights, usually khachapuri, which travels well and is easy to eat in a hotel room. Each one fed me two meals. I tried most of the menu across those visits and never hit a bad dish, which is why I ended up photographing so much of it.
The khachapuri is the thing to order, but the khinkali and the shared plates hold up too. It's cheap for how much food you get. One honest note: it's popular, and a table isn't guaranteed at busy times, so if you can't find a seat, take it to go the way I did. The kitchen runs late, Sunday to Thursday until 2:00 in the morning and Friday and Saturday until 6:00.

A cheap, popular Georgian cafe on Tbilisi's George Atoneli Street. One khachapuri feeds two, the khinkali holds up, and the kitchen runs past midnight (6:00 on weekends).
