Estación Córdoba Mitre

Córdoba Mitre was planned as a palace for the railway. Designs approved in 1909 mixed English railway engineering with references to the Italian Quattrocento. The main ticket hall used oak, majolica, Florentine bronze, terrazzo, and Venetian mosaics, which is a long way from a purely utilitarian station.

The building has been part of Córdoba's municipal cultural heritage since 1995. It remains the city's main Mitre railway terminal for regional and longer-distance services when those trains are operating. The station is east of the historic center, so it should not be confused with the smaller Córdoba stop used by Tren de las Sierras.
