For a late-evening arrival, DMK is usually the friendlier of the two Bangkok airports. It is closer to most central hotels than BKK, and traffic thins out enough after 10 p.m. that one hour door-to-door is realistic. Mostly used by AirAsia, Nok Air, Thai Lion, and Scoot, so if you are connecting from elsewhere in Southeast Asia on a low-cost carrier, you will probably land here.
