El miniBAR is the best restaurant in this part of Madrid. Most dishes come as a tapa or a larger plate, so it is easy to try a little bit of everything. The tuna tataki is probably my favorite appetizer here, but there is not a bad dish on the menu. The dining room is downstairs, so it does not work for anyone who cannot manage stairs.
From the source
El miniBAR is a compact tapas restaurant on Calle del Mesón de Paños, between Plaza Mayor and Ópera. Most of the menu can be ordered as either a small tapa or a larger plate, with dishes such as tuna tataki, croquettes, grilled goat cheese, confit duck and papas arrugadas. Reservations are useful because the room fills quickly.
The dining room is below street level and requires stairs. There is no step-free route for diners who cannot manage them.
