About

Estación del Ferrocarril de Arequipa is the city terminal for the Andean Explorer. The first train from the coast arrived in Arequipa in 1870, with the line becoming a major link between Mollendo, the altiplano, and southern Peru. The station complex is listed as a historic monument and still reads as industrial railway architecture rather than an ordinary modern terminal.

Current passenger use is limited to named Andean Explorer itineraries. This is not a daily train to Cusco or Puno. Check in for the reserved departure at the time shown by PeruRail.
