Forest Park Marjan
Split, Croatia
Mike's review
Visited 2018This was my favorite place to walk in Split. Marjan feels like the city's lungs: pine shade, sea views, swimming spots, running routes, bikeable roads, and enough space to get out of the old-town crowd without leaving Split.
It works best when treated as a loose loop rather than a single viewpoint. Walk part of it, swim at Bene or another cove, or use the local bus and Marjan electric bus information when heat or distance makes the full circuit less appealing. I would build a day in Split around it before adding another crowded old-town stop.
From the source
Large forest park west of Split old town with pine-shaded roads and trails, city and Adriatic viewpoints, swim coves, running routes, bikeable stretches, and park beaches such as Bene.
