Casa Museo y Capilla Buffo

Casa Museo y Capilla Buffo sits nine kilometers outside Unquillo on the eastern slope of the Sierras Chicas, inside Los Quebrachitos reserve. Guido Buffo built the Art Nouveau chapel in the early 1940s as a memorial to his wife, Leonor Allende, and their daughter, Eleonora. Its pointed plan draws on the thistle flower. Foucault pendulums, Renaissance-style frescoes, and instruments aligned with sunlight turn the small building into a mix of chapel, observatory, and family monument.

The light effects are clearest near midday. Visits are guided and must be reserved in advance through Unquillo's tourism office. The setting is part of the visit: the house and chapel sit inside a municipal water and nature reserve rather than in central Unquillo.
