Visited 2015Edmund Hellmer’s monument shows Johann Strauss II playing the violin beneath a marble arch. It was unveiled in 1921 and the bronze figure is plated in gold, which is why it stands out so sharply against the trees.
This is a short stop inside Stadtpark, close to the Kursalon rather than a destination that needs its own journey. Use it as a marker on a walk through the park and along the Wien River. The monument is outdoors and free to see.
