About
Klausen Synagogue stands beside the Old Jewish Cemetery and is the largest surviving synagogue from the former Prague ghetto. The present early Baroque building opened after fire destroyed the earlier Klausen buildings in 1689. One of those earlier buildings housed a yeshiva founded by Rabbi Loew. The synagogue is part of the Jewish Museum, but it is undergoing a long renovation and currently opens only for temporary exhibitions, concerts or special events. Check the museum's site before building a visit around interior access.
