La Playa is a calm, design-forward cafe a few blocks back from Patong Beach, open from 7:30 in the morning. Despite the name, it's not on the sand. It's a polished, photogenic spot that fills up with people working on laptops, and it's comfortable for exactly that. I usually got the chicken and waffles, a savory plate that made it my regular morning stop.
It works as a laptop morning: good coffee, air conditioning, a quiet table, and food that arrives looking like the photos. If you're staying in Patong and want a calm place to eat and work, it's an easy one to settle into. Open daily, 7:30 to midnight.
