I prefer Santa Caterina to La Boqueria because it is less crowded and easier to shop.

Santa Caterina was Barcelona’s first covered food market, opening in 1848 on the site of a demolished Dominican convent. The 2005 renovation by Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue kept the old portico and side walls but added the broad, undulating mosaic roof. Archaeological remains below cover a Roman suburban area and the later convent.
