Milano Centrale

Milano Centrale is Milan's main long-distance rail terminus, with 24 passenger platforms and around 500 regional, high-speed and international trains each day. Metro lines M2 and M3 stop below the station, and RFI provides Sala Blu assistance for passengers with reduced mobility.

Ulisse Stacchini won the station design competition in 1912, but revisions delayed the opening until May 1931. The iron platform sheds designed by Alberto Fava extend 341 meters, and the main arch spans 72 meters. A 2005 to 2010 renovation restored the historic rooms and converted the former carriage gallery into a covered public concourse.

Station access follows the first and last scheduled trains. The staffed Trenitalia ticket office is open daily from 06:15 to 21:30.
