Crawling Babies at Museum Kampa

Three giant bronze babies crawl across the grass outside Museum Kampa, each about 3.5 meters long with a flat, slotted face in place of normal features. Czech artist David Černý developed the work in 1995. These bronze casts became a permanent Kampa installation in 2008, while related fiberglass figures climb the Žižkov Television Tower.

The sculptures sit in the public riverside grounds beside Sova’s Mills, so seeing them does not require a museum ticket. Museum Kampa focuses on Central European modern art and keeps separate opening hours and admission.
