Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston opened in 1924 with 60 works and now holds nearly 80,000 objects. Its Museum District campus includes the Caroline Wiess Law Building, the Audrey Jones Beck Building, and the Nancy and Rich Kinder Building, along with the Cullen Sculpture Garden and Glassell School of Art. The collection covers about 5,000 years, so the three main gallery buildings are easier to use as separate visits than as one continuous room sequence. The 2016 photos here come from Sculpted in Steel, a temporary exhibition of 14 Art Deco cars and three motorcycles built between 1929 and 1940. The museum runs extended hours on Thursday and offers free general admission that day.
