Estación Once de Septiembre

Once is the central Buenos Aires terminal of the Sarmiento Line. The railway reached the area in the 1850s, and the station was repeatedly enlarged as the western suburbs grew. British architect John Doyer designed the historic terminal, including the iron platform sheds that still define much of the interior.

Parts of the original complex were lost during alterations in the 1970s, but enough remains for the building to be protected as a National Historic Monument. The railway terminal connects with Plaza Miserere on Subte Line A. The different names are easy to miss when planning a transfer, even though the two stations form one interchange.
