Petřín Tower

Petřín Tower is a 58.7-meter steel observation tower at the top of Petřín Hill. The Czech Tourist Club built it for the 1891 Jubilee Exhibition after members visited the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Its structure is about one-fifth the height of the Paris tower, but the hill puts their upper viewpoints at a similar elevation.

There are 299 steps to the top, and an elevator reaches the 51-meter observation platform for a separate fee. Hours change by season. As of July 2026, the Petřín funicular remains out of service, so access requires a walk from Újezd or a gentler approach from the hilltop side.
