The Mitre Victoria to Los Cardales branch connects the Retiro to Tigre line with El Talar, López Camelo, Garín, Maquinista Savio, Matheu, Zelaya, and Los Cardales. Change at Victoria for electric trains toward Retiro or Tigre.
The branch opened in the late nineteenth century as a rural railway from Victoria toward Capilla del Señor and the interior of Buenos Aires Province. The current passenger train covers only part of that older corridor, ending at Los Cardales rather than continuing through the complete historic route.
Use SUBE for the fare where validators are available and plan around the published timetable. Service is thin enough that this is not a branch to approach without checking the return train. The transfer at Victoria uses the same station complex as the Tigre branch.
Diesel rolling stock operates beyond Victoria, while the connecting Retiro trains use the air-conditioned electric fleet. Outer stations have limited facilities and do not provide consistent wheelchair access or high platforms. Confirm any boarding assistance with Trenes Argentinos before travel.
