Urquiza Line Urquiza: Federico Lacroze–General Lemos

The Urquiza Federico Lacroze to General Lemos line connects Chacarita with Villa Devoto, Martín Coronado, Hurlingham, Campo de Mayo, and General Lemos. Federico Lacroze provides a direct transfer to Subte Line B.

The line grew from Federico Lacroze's rural tramway, which opened in the late nineteenth century and was later converted into an electric suburban railway. It became part of the Urquiza network after nationalization in 1948. The high-platform route is physically separate from most other Buenos Aires commuter lines.

Use SUBE for the fare and tap where validators are provided. Metrovías operates the service rather than Trenes Argentinos. The full trip has 23 stops, and the frequent inner section can get crowded around the workday commute.

Older electric multiple-unit trains provide the service. They have plenty of doors for quick station stops, but ventilation and climate control are basic compared with newer air-conditioned fleets. High platforms help with boarding, although step-free access, ramps, and the platform gap vary by station.
