Mike’s notes
Charleroi Metro serves Charleroi with M2, M3, M4. The diagrams use current station order and official route shapes rather than straight geographic shortcuts.
Charleroi’s light-metro project began opening in 1976. It reused parts of the older vicinal tramway and added grade-separated infrastructure, leaving a compact operating network alongside several never-opened sections.
Tickets and vehicles
Use the local operator’s app, ticket machine, or accepted contactless product before boarding. Belgium’s regional operators share some ticket products, but one operator’s fare is not automatically valid on every network.
The assigned metro, tram, or light-rail vehicle can change by departure. Floor height, air conditioning, seating, and interior space are not consistent across every fleet.
Accessibility
Step-free access varies by stop and vehicle. Check the operator’s current lift, platform, and disruption information when accessible travel is essential.
