Frankfurt's trams are the surface layer under a city people often reduce to airport, towers, and S-Bahn. They are useful when your movement is too short for the regional rail spine and too awkward for walking.
For a visitor, the tram is less of a sightseeing system than a comfort tool: river-side movement, station approaches, neighborhoods just outside the center, and the kind of short hops that make Frankfurt feel more connected than it looks from the office-tower view.
