The Vientiane to Boten passenger corridor runs the length of the Laos-China Railway inside Laos. The station order includes Phon Hong, Vang Vieng, Kasi, Luang Prabang, Muang Nga, Muang Xay, and Nateuy. Individual trains use different stopping patterns, so the diagram shows the passenger corridor rather than promising that one departure serves every station.

The line opened in December 2021. Tunnels and bridges carry most of the northern section through terrain that previously made road trips between Vientiane and Luang Prabang slow and unpredictable.

Tickets and trains

Buy through the official LCR Ticket app or a staffed office. Tickets use the passenger's identification details, and those details must match at boarding. The app supports several card and mobile payment methods.

Faster electric multiple units and a slower conventional train share the route. Cars are air-conditioned, and luggage screening takes place before boarding. Station accessibility information is not published in one reliable guide. Contact the railway before travel when step-free boarding or assistance is required.
