Mike’s notes
VLT do Cariri serves Juazeiro do Norte and Crato. VLT do Cariri is a short regional urban railway between Juazeiro do Norte and Crato. It is useful for the corridor it serves, but the timetable is thinner than a city metro.
Passenger VLT service began in 2009 on a rebuilt section of the former railway. The line keeps a rail connection between the two principal Cariri cities.
Riding the network
Check Metrofor’s current Cariri fare and schedule before travel. Station sales and operating hours are more limited than on Fortaleza’s South Line.
Current rolling stock and ride conditions: Diesel light-rail cars run at street and railway speeds over a mostly surface alignment.
Juazeiro do Norte and Crato are the city anchors. Padre Cícero and the intermediate stops serve local neighborhoods rather than an airport or intercity terminal.
Accessibility: Stops are simple surface platforms. Confirm boarding assistance before a trip that requires step-free access.
Sunday service and late departures are limited or absent in many timetable periods.
