Cariri Line runs from Fátima to Crato and has 9 cataloged stops. Weekday and Saturday diesel VLT service.
Passenger VLT service began in 2009 on a rebuilt section of the former railway. The line keeps a rail connection between the two principal Cariri cities. The present route opened through those stages.
Riding the line
Check Metrofor’s current Cariri fare and schedule before travel. Station sales and operating hours are more limited than on Fortaleza’s South Line.
Current rolling stock and ride conditions: Diesel light-rail cars run at street and railway speeds over a mostly surface alignment.
Neither endpoint should be assumed to include an internal transfer to another railway. Juazeiro do Norte and Crato are the city anchors. Padre Cícero and the intermediate stops serve local neighborhoods rather than an airport or intercity terminal.
Accessibility: Stops are simple surface platforms. Confirm boarding assistance before a trip that requires step-free access.
Sunday service and late departures are limited or absent in many timetable periods.
Check VLT do Cariri for the current timetable and operating notices.
