Munich U-Bahn U6

U6 is the Munich U-Bahn line I would pay attention to if I were choosing a hotel north of the center. It runs through Odeonsplatz, Universitat, Munchner Freiheit, Schwabing, and north toward Garching.

This is why the Andaz Munich Schwabinger Tor works as a slower-trip base. You are not in the old center, but the U6 makes the center easy enough while giving you a calmer, more modern neighborhood.

The line also tells the city-building story of Munich as a university and research city. It carries students, hospital trips, Marienplatz visitors, and the Garching science corridor.
