Line Centro Jaboatão runs from Recife to Jaboatão and has 14 cataloged stops. Recife Centro Jaboatão.
The modern metro began in 1985, absorbing and rebuilding older suburban rail corridors. The South Line followed in stages, while diesel VLTs now work the outer Cabo and Curado branches. The present route opened through those stages.
Riding the line
Use the current CBTU Recife ticket or VEM product accepted for the trip. The electric metro and diesel branches have different hours, so a valid fare does not guarantee a connection.
Current rolling stock and ride conditions: Electric multiple units handle the Center and South lines. Diesel VLT sets run the Cabo and Curado branches over surface railway.
Recife, Joana Bezerra, Afogados, Ipiranga, Mangueira are marked as interchanges in the network data. Recife, Joana Bezerra, Coqueiral, Rodoviária, and Cajueiro Seco are the main transfer points. The Airport station connects with a covered walkway toward the terminal area.
Accessibility: Major electric stations have lifts or ramps, but equipment reliability and the outer VLT platforms vary.
The Curado and Cabo VLT branches finish earlier and run less often than the electric metro.
Check Recife Metro for the current timetable and operating notices.
