Line A is the orange line, running from Battistini in the northwest to Anagnina in the southeast. It reaches the sights most first trips are built around. Ottaviano serves the Vatican Museums, Spagna lets out under the Spanish Steps, and Barberini is a short walk from the Trevi Fountain. Line A meets Line B at Termini and Line C at San Giovanni.
The trains fill at the Vatican end in the morning and around Termini all day, and Line A is where Rome's pickpockets work the crowds hardest, at Spagna and Repubblica above all. Keep your phone in a zipped pocket and your bag in front of you in a packed car.
