Mike’s notes

Rotterdam is more of a metro city than Amsterdam because the city is newer, wider, and less organized around a compact canal core. The metro is part of the normal shape.

Two lines make the system especially useful for travelers: Line E toward The Hague, and Line B toward Hoek van Holland if you are chasing the port/beach edge. Inside town, use the metro for longer jumps and the tram for surface detail.

Payment is Dutch-simple now: OVpay, same card/device in and out.
