Mike’s notes

Teresina Metro serves Teresina. Teresina Metro links the southeast neighborhoods with the center on a single surface railway. Frequency is limited, but the zero fare makes it useful when the timetable fits.

Urban passenger service began in 1991. The state transferred operation to the Companhia Ferroviária e de Logística do Piauí, which is rebuilding stations, track, and rolling stock.

Current rolling stock and ride conditions: Diesel railcars work the line while a wider modernization program replaces trains and stations.

Engenheiro Alberto Tavares Silva is the central terminal. Frei Serafim is the historic station stop, while Itararé anchors the southeast end.

Accessibility: Rebuilt stations are improving platform access, but construction can change entrances and boarding points.

Colorado, Todos os Santos, and other project stations belong to the expansion program until the state confirms passenger opening.
