Ulm's tram is small and useful: two lines that make the university/Science Park side, neighborhoods, and station approaches easier while the old center remains walkable.
For a short visit, the tram is a helper rather than the point. Walk the Münster and old town, use the tram when the hotel or university-side plan moves beyond easy walking range.
