Iglesia de los Capuchinos

Two uneven towers make Iglesia de los Capuchinos easy to identify from the Buen Pastor lawn. Augusto Ferrari designed the church in a mix of neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque forms. The pointed 70-meter tower represents the soul rising toward God, while the unfinished-looking tower represents the body and its mortality. Inside, the painted vaults map the night sky over Córdoba during different months of 1930.

Capuchin Franciscans arrived in Córdoba in 1911 and first worked from the nearby Buen Pastor parish. Construction began in 1926. The church was officially inaugurated in 1933, though decoration and other work continued until 1980. It remains an active church, so access can shift around services. Experiencia Capuchinos runs separate church-and-tower visits Tuesday through Sunday at 9:30, 11:00, and 19:30.
