The Lennon Wall is a changing layer of portraits, lyrics, signatures, and political messages on Velkopřevorské náměstí in Malá Strana. After John Lennon's death in 1980, people began using the wall as an informal memorial. It also became a place for anti-totalitarian messages during communist rule in Czechoslovakia. The wall was repaired and reorganized in 2019, but new writing continues to replace older work. The Sovereign Military Order of Malta owns the wall. Visitors may add messages with pencil, marker, or chalk in the designated area, while spray paint is prohibited. It is a free outdoor stop a short walk from Charles Bridge.
