- Best as a stay-put base for downtime, pool time, and slower days rather than nonstop city sightseeing.

Perfect hotel for a family holiday to Rio. The property features an amazing pool grounds (hot tub, children's pool, family pool) with live grilling every day and several restaurants adjacent. The location is relatively close to Ipanama and Copacabana, but not close enough that you can easily walk. Luckily Ubers are abundant and the hotel has hire cars as well.
Now for the bad: the property is an older style building with low ceilings. I stayed in two different rooms during my stay and the latter one had a terrible mildew smell in the hallway. The property is LOUD. I stayed over New Years and there were two days of private parties that lasted till at least 3am and literally vibrated the windows. Don't bother staying here if the noise isn't for you.

A Rio resort that works well for a family holiday, with strong pool grounds and restaurants, but older-building quirks, noise, and occasional mildew issues are real tradeoffs.
